LATEST ANNOUNCEMENTS

Starting on the first day of school, our 5th and 6th grade class, along with our enrichment program, embarked on an exciting hands-on learning project: Project Chicken Chapel! Students have been hard at work bringing their studies in math, science, and engineering to life by designing and building a backyard chicken coop—styled as a charming country chapel.

Here’s what they’ve achieved so far:

Research & Planning: Students explored city ordinances to ensure their coop is compliant for Rugby backyards, designed blueprints, planned a budget, and gathered materials.

Hands-on Learning: They've been measuring (fractions), using geometry tools like speed squares, leveling, cutting, drilling, painting, hammering, and practicing project management.

The result? Two beautiful chapel-style chicken coops! One chapel will be auctioned at the upcoming LFCS Dine N' Bid, and the other will be placed in the backyard of the priest’s residence, where students will raise a small flock for the school and parish community. The learning and fun will continue as they care for the chickens throughout the school year.

We’re incredibly grateful to our new partner in education, Brooks and Stephanie with North Central Builders, who jumped on board to make this project possible! Not only did they supply materials, but they also teamed up with ACME Tools in Minot to set our students up with tools and safety gear. A huge thank you to Brooks, Stephanie, and ACME Tools for supporting our students’ learning journey!

Stay tuned for updates as our students continue this amazing project!

Little Flower Students and Staff Give Back to the Community with Service Days

At Little Flower Catholic School, students and staff are showing their appreciation for the support they receive from the community by launching a series of "Community Give Back Days" this school year. These special days offer opportunities for our school family to actively serve and help the community around us.

The first Community Give Back Day took place on September 11th, where students and staff volunteered their time at the Prairie Village Pumpkin Patch. The students worked diligently, spending the afternoon weeding, painting and varnishing, and assisting with the organization of a mass mailing. Their hard work and dedication reflected our school’s mission to not only learn and grow together but also to give back to those who support us.

Throughout the school year, Little Flower students and staff will continue to devote time to serving the community during three of our early dismissal days. These service projects are designed to foster a sense of pride in helping others, while reinforcing the values of generosity and compassion that are central to our faith and school culture.

We are grateful for the opportunity to come together as a school and give back, and we look forward to the next opportunity to serve and strengthen our connection with the wider community.
